Thanks for the comments and I think you are right in some cases. I know if I could handle the pain and have life with out meds, I would. Exercise and diet does go a long way in helping the pain of Fibro, and people should really look at adding that to their way of life with FM.

The introduction of prescription medication to deal with FM is a decidedly necessary step for many, but for some, a prescription is not necessarily the wisest (or easiest) route to go...

for severe pain, Lyrica may well be used effectively, but for others who are in less pain, there are a number of natural alternatives that may effectively treat pain without dependence on pharmaceuticals

diet and exercise alone can go a long way in easing pain, though there are certainly cases which will need the heavier drugs...

I'm all for medication and have tried a cocktail as prescribed by my doctor of wellbutrin and topomax, nothing seems to sustain good results. The one thing that has left me feeling better consistantly are the changes I made to my diet and I took up swimming as my exercise. I 'm taking a multi-vitamin, SAMe and 5-HTP as recommended by the DSIB (Diet Supplement Information Bureau). They don't actually sell the products, just a great resource.
