I heard about the importance of getting enough D3 at the beginning of this year. I noticed a great lessening of pain once I started taking 4000 IU of D3/day. It only took about 4-5 days to work. I tested it 3 times by going off D3 and back on. My pain got worse when I got off, and improved when I got back on the 4000 IU of D3. I have been able to exercise now and further strengthen my muscles and reduce pain even more.
